Filipino American Society of Architects and Engineers (FASAE) held their 2018 General Member National Conference in collaboration with American Legion Post on June 16th at the War Memorial Veterans Building in San Francisco. Members of PASE and UC Berkeley's Pilipino Association of Scientists, Architects, and Engineers (PASAE) attended the conference as undergraduate representatives. The main topic of the conference was the United Nation's plan to build better sustainable houses for developing communities in countries like Ecuador, Philippines, and Haiti.
FASAE's conference focused on rural areas of the Philippines, specifically in Mindanao, where there is still a need for housing and community planning. It was also a special opportunity to learn about the huge diaspora of Filipinx and Filipinx Americans and how to spread the word for helping this cause.
Special thanks to FASAE for inviting us and American Legion Post for hosting this event. Also to PASAE for coming out and representing as Filipinx identified undergraduates in STEM.
